OptaSense Digitalization Solutions Featured In Leading Geophyics Journal
An article authored by OptaSense is featured in September 2022 issue of The Leading Edge, a scientific journal of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
The article, Digitalization of Asset Surveillance Through Distributed Fiber-Optic Sensing: Geophysics and Engineering Diagnostics and Streaming, was authored by J. Andres Chavarria, Todd Bown, Paul Clarkson, Simon Watson and Chris Minto.
In the article, Chavarria and team discuss various approaches to maximize the value of fiber optic surveillance. From seismic to production and pipeline monitoring, many real-time diagnostics enable clients to get value from their fibers without delays.
The authors describe strategies to convert large data streams from DAS interrogator units to diagnostics or processed products. Optimizing DAS systems results in higher signal-to-noise ratio for signals while extracting diagnostic features out of the noise that could be related to production or well engineering.
The Leading Edge is a publication of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, introducing new geophysical theory, instrumentation, and established practices to scientists in a wide range of geoscience disciplines.
